Planes and Trains

Most people fly in via The Albuquerque Sunport; it is the largest and most accessible airport in New Mexico, about 50 minutes drive from Santa Fe. The Sunport also has an extremely accomodating and extensive rental car facility.
Flights do regularly go in and out of The Santa Fe Municipal Airport; however, due to the smaller size of the local airport (class 3) these flights are always on smaller aircraft (30 seats or fewer).

Santa Fe's Train Station has always been in the historic town of Lamy (find it on a Satellite Map)The Southwest Chief (formerly the Southwest Limited) is a passenger train operated by Amtrak along a 2256-mile (3631-km) route through the Midwestern and Southwestern United States. It runs from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California, passing through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
